NANCY AGUIRRE, Ph.D., EIT.
Dr. Nancy Aguirre is the Program Manager of Highways and Airports for the Cement Council of Texas, with research experience in the area of concrete pavement analysis and finite element modeling. She graduated from the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP) with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and has recently received her Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from UTEP, where she worked on a research project entitled “RPAS: An Enhanced Finite Element Code for the Mechanistic Analysis of Rigid Pavements”. During her graduate studies, Nancy participated in writing SPTC and TxDOT research proposals related to the mechanistic analysis and design procedure for continuously reinforced and jointed concrete pavements and collaborated with the Cement Council of Texas on several projects involving a new method for pavement design. Nancy also has experience teaching the Civil Engineering Fundamentals and Design of Steel Structures courses offered at UTEP.
