CCT Presents Paving Award to Austin's Mayor Lee Leffingwell
CCT presented ACPA's Gold "Excellence in Concrete Paving Award - Industrial Pavements" to Austin's Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Austin Water, at the City's December 15, 2011 City Council Meeting. The award was for the 15 acre expansion of the Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Facility concrete compost pad.

Austin's Hornsby Bend Facility Garners ACPA Award
Austin's Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Facility expanded its existing 25 acre roller compacted concrete pavement processing pad in 2011, with an additional 16 acres of continuously reinforced concrete. The innovative design by HVJ Associates, and fast, high-quality construction by Chasco Constructors, resulted in a national Gold Excellence in Concrete Paving Award from the American Concrete Pavement Association. World-Class Texas DPS Emergency Track Uses Three Types of Concrete
Texas Department of Public Safety chose concrete pavement to minimize maintenance expenses on its world-class training facility. The unique design incorporates over 250,000 square yards of continuously reinforced, jointed reinforced, and post-tensioned concrete pavements.

Port of Houston Utilizes Integrated Paving Solutions
The Port of Houston uses roller compacted concrete, cement treated base, and cement/lime modified soil to take take the punishment at its Bayport container yard.

- Feb 12-14: Texas Public Works Association Annual Short Course in Lubbock, where CCT is a Silver Sponsor, and will host a table top display.
- Feb 23-24: Green Matters Conference, part of the Concrete Decor Show in San Antonio. CCT's Jan Prusinski is moderating a panel discussion on "Why Green Materials Matter: Balancing Sustainability, Performance and Economy." Also, CCT is sponsoring a seminar on “Integrating Resilience into Sustainability,” with Stephen Szoke, Director of Codes and Standards, the Portland Cement Association.
- March 5-8: Transportation Systems Workshop in Austin focusing on Army, Air Force and Navy transportation facilities. Visit CCT and the Portland Cement Association at their booth, and mingle with service professionals, consultants, and contractors involved with designing and building military transportation systems.
- March 18-21: American Concrete Institute's Spring Convention comes to Dallas. A special "Symposium on Integrated Cement Based Pavement Solutions" is being offered on Monday, March 19th. It will feature expert presentations on a variety of pavement solutions, such as concrete paving, roller compacted concrete, and cement-stabilized bases.
- March 28-30: TxDOT Aviation Conference in Galveston, a key annual event for Texas airport facility managers, design consultants, and contractors. Visit CCT at our exhibit.
