TxDOT is celebrating 100 years of service in 2017, and has produced a multimedia website to commemorate the TxDOT Centennial, focusing on the people, the technology and the transportation systems that have built the largest state DOT road network in the United States.
The website, "Connecting Texans to What Matters Most" features a video (above compilation of TxDOT's first 100 years), a TxDOT photo gallery, the commemorative publication "Dirt Roads to Diverging Diamonds: A Century of Transportation in Texas," and a downloadable TxDOT timeline, among other features. The Centennial kicked off at the 12th Annual Texas Transportation Forum (February 5-7, 2017) in Austin where a refurbrished TxDOT World War I surplus truck was on display, and now will travel through the state, (see the "Track the Truck' interactive map) ending at the State Fair in Dallas, in September and October.
