Corpus Christi Chooses Concrete Over Asphalt
The Corpus Christi City Council recently voted in favor of constructing two major roads in the City with concrete. These two projects, South Staples Street ($15 million to Bay Ltd.) and Airline Road ($6.3 million to Texas Sterling) were bid as alternative concrete and asphalt designs. The City Engineer, Pete Anaya, recommended concrete on the two roads because concrete was the lower life cycle cost alternative in both cases.
