Girder Spanning 165 feet Sets Record in Texas
A 165 ft, 81 ton precast concrete girder will span a critical overpass for the extension of SH 130/45, over County Roaed 179. This will be the longest concrete girder subject to land transport in the State. Heldenfels Enterprises Inc. fabricated the girder for builder Archer Western Contractors, who is contracted by SH 130 Concession Co. LLC. Partners in the concession include Zachry American Infrastructure, a sister company to the cement and aggregate supplier on the project, Capitol Aggregate of San Antonio.
