Projects and Solutions
A list of documented concrete and cement projects and solutions representing a variety of pavement, building and construction applications.
Austin's Hornsby Bend Biosolids Management Facility expanded, in 2011, its existing 25 acre roller compacted concrete pavement processing pad, with an additional 15 acres of continuously reinforced concrete. The innovative design by HVJ Associates, and fast, high-quality construction by Chasco Constructors, resulted in a national Gold Excellence in Concrete Paving Award from the American Concrete Pavement Association.
Recognizing the dwindling street maintenance and reconstruction budgets along with limited personnel and aging equipment, San Angelo looked to roller-compacted concrete pavement (RCC) for the long-term pavement solution.
Texas Department of Public Safety chose concrete pavement to minimize maintenance expenses on its world-class training facility. The unique design incorporates over 250,000 square yards of continuously reinforced, jointed reinforced, and post-tensioned concrete pavements.
The Port of Houston uses roller compacted concrete, cement treated base, and cement/lime modified soil to take take the punishment at its Bayport container yard.
PCA's "The Road Recycled" special supplement in 2004, to Roads & Bridges Magazine, contains project, process, and equipment information about the full depth reclamation (FDR) process.
