2024 Outlook

The Texas construction industry is poised for continued growth and innovation in 2024 and beyond. Like most years in Texas, we enjoy great fundamentals to live and do business - a strong economy and a growing population. Several other key factors are likely to shape the outlook for construction, namely sustainability and technological advancements. The Cement Council of Texas has been focused on building the markets these advancements will affect and we are ready to help you navigate any changes ahead. We have been educating our industry on proper material selection to not only grow along with the state but also grow the industry for any market dynamics we may face in the future.

As we embark on the new year, CCT stands ready at the forefront of the continued growth in our industry, both the magnitude of it and the changing innovative landscape. The robust economic conditions that have characterized Texas in recent years are expected to persist, but we are not resting on our laurels. We are using advanced analytics to drive our actions and prepare for changes and innovation.

Infrastructure development continues to be a major focal point in 2024. We believe it is critical to educate our state’s stakeholders on the benefits of sustainability and resiliency for the long-term prosperity of their communities. The CCT/TxDOT Concrete Conference will tackle many of these topics, as well as allow you to meet and interface with key decision-makers at TxDOT. You can learn more about this program under the events section of our website.

In line with national trends, sustainability and technological advancements will play a crucial role in shaping the construction landscape. Texas is likely to see an uptick in green construction practices and continued advancement in manufacturing. Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) have been advancing in our industry for many years, and are starting to grow more in upstream and downstream operations. We have been interfacing with many groups on how we can best support our members and other stakeholders who have yet to build out these offerings.

CCT is excited about what the future holds and is ready to support your cement and concrete educational needs in 2024. Our mission remains clear, we assist, promote, and educate on the use of cement and concrete to drive sustainable and resilient solutions for long-life infrastructure. Whether you are looking for information on blended cement, like Type 1L, or if you are seeking help selecting the best options for your paving projects - call the Cement Council of Texas.
